• The challenge: Family farmers are getting squeezed by the system: high water costs, expensive equiment, intense work, the miles racked up by schlepping produce to farmers markets all over, and ever-lower prices paid for their produce, it's not hard to understand why many farmers choose to sell their land to developers.
• Time for a Squeeze Play! As a nonprofit, we're able to BUY HIGHER – pay a fair price to farmers, rather than the usual pennies on the retail dollar – and sell lower – pass on a fair price to you, our Squeeze Players.
